Use Loox’s AI review flagging to automatically scan new reviews for content that may violate content guidelines.


Why use AI review flagging?

Loox helps you maintain trust and transparency by automatically detecting reviews that may include personal information, offensive language, or other content that violates your store’s terms of service. Instead of manually monitoring every review, you’ll get notified when a review needs your attention.

With AI review flagging, you can keep your reviews compliant with local laws and syndication platforms and prevent inappropriate or sensitive content from appearing on your store.


Enable AI review flagging

To activate AI review flagging:

  1. Go to "Preferences - General" within "Reviews".
  2. Scroll down to "AI review flagging".
  3. Toggle on "Flag reviews that may violate terms of service".
  4. Loox will automatically scan every new review to identify potential violations and let you know via your regular review notification email if a review is flagged. 

Notes: 

  • AI-flagging only applies to new reviews. Existing reviews won’t be re-scanned. 
  • Reviews that are flagged by our system will be marked as flagged on your Manage reviews page for up to 14 days to give you time to address them. To comply with Google's review guidelines, flagged reviews that aren't manually unpublished within the 14-day moderation window will be automatically published. Learn more.
  • Reviews will temporarily be set to "Pending" while our flagging system reviews them. After the flagging process has run, the review will follow your regular auto-publish settings. Learn more
  • When AI flagging catches a review, that review is marked as "Pending" for 14 days no matter which auto-publishing preference you've set. So a 5-star review that would normally publish right away will still be held for you to review if it's flagged. When you publish a flagged review, or when it publishes automatically after 14 days, the flag clears on its own. If you unpublish it instead, you'll choose an unpublish reason as usual.

FAQs

Q: Will flagged reviews be unpublished automatically?
A: Flagged reviews will be set to "Pending" for 14 days so you can decide whether to manually unpublish them. If you don't unpublish them in those 14 days, they will be automatically published. Learn more.

Q: Do flagged reviews affect rewards, discounts, or reminder emails?
A: Text-only reviews that were flagged will not be prompted to add a photo/video in the thank you email.

Q: Can I still publish a flagged review?
A: Yes. You can manually approve and publish flagged reviews.

Q: Will customers know their review was flagged?
A: No, customers aren’t notified when a review is flagged.

Q: What happens if a customer edits their flagged review?
A: When a customer changes the rating or text, Loox re-scans the review. If it's flagged again, the review is marked as "Pending" again with a fresh 14-day moderation window. If it's no longer flagged, it follows your auto-publishing preferences. Adding a photo or video to an already-reviewed review doesn't trigger a re-scan.
